Record Year for WCPDF Conference
The Western Cape Property Development Forum (WCPDF) is set to deliver its 13th Annual Conference with record-breaking momentum, as delegate registrations surge ahead of the event taking place from 24–25 June 2026 at the CTICC in Cape Town.
This year’s theme, “Future (City) Perfect”, lands at a critical moment for the property and construction sector, as rapid urbanisation, infrastructure pressure, and shifting economic conditions reshape how cities must be planned and built.

WCPDF Chairperson Deon van Zyl highlights the urgency behind the theme: “I think we’ve chosen a theme very close to the property development and construction industry’s heart. Particularly now, with the world in an enormous state of flux, we must carefully interrogate how we plan and build robust, sustainable South African cities going forward.”
Drawing inspiration from urban thinker Jane Jacobs, the conference will explore cities as complex, living ecosystems, driven by diversity, density, and integrated, community-led development.
Van Zyl adds: “We need alignment across national, regional and local government and stronger collaboration between public and private sectors, to build future ecosystems, not fragmented developments.”
