What a week
Global markets snapped back hard, with the JSE All Share posting its strongest rally in over six years after the US Iran ceasefire. But don’t mistake relief for stability. Oil, inflation, and geopolitical risk are still sitting just below the surface and that keeps interest rate pressure very real.
Back home, the South African property market continues to split into multiple realities. Commercial is hitting an affordability ceiling, residential demand is shifting geographically, and operational costs are becoming just as important as price. There is no single “market” anymore only micro-markets driven by behaviour, economics and infrastructure.
For investors, the message is simple: adapt or get left behind. Follow demand, not tradition. Prioritise cash flow, flexibility, and location efficiency. The winners right now aren’t chasing hype, they’re positioning ahead of where the market is going next.
