Property Shines at SAPOA!
This week, REI had the pleasure of attending South Africa’s premier property event, where the brightest minds in real estate gathered to explore the latest trends and opportunities. Outgoing chair Jackie van Niekerk highlighted the sector's resilience amid the year's unprecedented challenges, particularly the ongoing issues with water and electricity.
Itumeleng Mothibeli, the new president of the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) and Managing Director of Vukile Property Fund Southern Africa, praised SAPOA's role in spotlighting regional municipal challenges. He emphasized a collaborative approach to problem-solving during his term, advocating for public sector engagement to address these issues effectively.
With the establishment of the Government of National Unity (GNU), there is a renewed sense of optimism. Real estate investors are eyeing local opportunities with fresh enthusiasm, seeing potential in the evolving landscape
As we celebrate 17 years of Real Estate Investor Magazine, let’s take inspiration from both our industry and the Springbok rugby team, who are set to face the All Blacks this weekend. Here’s to seizing opportunities, embracing change, and continuing our journey of growth and success!
Warm regards
